The Housekeeping Assistant ensures hotel rooms and common areas are cleaned, sanitized, and presented to the hotel’s standards. The role supports smooth operations by completing assigned cleaning tasks efficiently, safely, and with attention to detail.

Requirements

- Prior housekeeping experience in a hotel environment.
- Familiarity with housekeeping checklists, room inspection processes, and sanitation best practices.
- Knowledge of safe handling practices for cleaning chemicals.
- Indoor work in hotel rooms and common areas.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and odors (handled according to safety rules).
- Physical demands may include pushing housekeeping carts, bending, reaching, and lifting cleaning supplies/linens.

Responsibilities

- Clean and prepare assigned guest rooms (including checklists) according to hotel standards.
- Make beds, change linens and towels, and restock room amenities (e.g., toiletries, tissue, coffee/tea items).
- Clean bathrooms thoroughly, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep/mop floors, and clean baseboards and other assigned surfaces.
- Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and other visible areas.
- Remove trash and replace liners in rooms and designated areas.
- Ensure rooms are stocked and organized for guest readiness.
- Assist with laundry tasks as assigned (sorting, washing, folding, and delivery).
- Maintain housekeeping carts and storage areas in an organized and sanitary manner.
- Report maintenance or safety issues immediately (e.g., broken fixtures, stains, odors, water leaks).
- Follow all safety procedures for chemical use, including correct dilution and PPE requirements.
- Provide respectful, discreet support to guests when needed and maintain privacy standards.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to meet productivity goals and room readiness times.
